Junior Squash Programme Spring 2025
Junior Squash Programme Spring 2025

~~~
Southgate has a long reputation of supporting and encouraging junior squash. As a result over the years has seen a wealth of players who have grown up at the club. Many have played and represented their club and county at junior level and have gone on to do the same at a senior level.
With a wealth of strong junior players at the club we find it inspires the younger generation to embrace and play squash, while having lots of fun and meeting and making new friends. Juniors are encouraged to become members of Southgate Squash Club at a small annual fee, with access to free walk on courts, and a reduced court fee if booked in advance.
Southgate is a strong supporter of the Middlesex Junior County Squash program and has been the host of the Middlesex Junior County Closed tournament for a number of years as well as a number of junior county training sessions throughout the year.
SSRC Junior Squash Coaching
Southgate Squash Club has a fabulous team of England Squash qualified coaches who are part of the of the Play Squash team, which provides Junior Squash coaching during term time and during the school holidays.
Up to 4 squash courts are dedicated to coaching children of all age groups with a wide ranging level of skills.
These sessions are open to members and non- members and provide coaching for 40+ children each week and have produced many of our best players over the years including Alison Waters and a number of juniors who are ranked in the top 20 in England.
Important notice: All juniors (U19s) are required to wear clean non-marking soled trainers (no Astros or dirty outdoor footwear) and to wear eye protection whilst on court during coaching and matches. The SSRC will loan protective goggles during coaching, but it is highly recommended that regular players and participants purchase their own and are available from all reputable sports equipment suppliers.
