We have won the England Squash National Club of the Year - Silver winner. Our award was presented at the World Squash Championships on Saturday 18 October 2008.
The SSRC Committee and volunteers have been working towards this for nearly 2 years and this award acknowledges that our club is healthy and doing a great job in developing and supporting the sport.
"I would like to offer my congratulations, as your application for Silver Club of the Year, has
been judged nationally and I am delighted to inform you that Southgate Squash and Racketball
Club has emerged as National Winner in the Silver Category."
Steve Amos,
Head of Development,
England Squash.
This news follows the Silver Accreditation awarded by England Squash and presented by former
World Squash Champion Peter Nicol MBE to Chairperson Lindsey Dack and Alison Waters
(National Womens Squash Champion 2008 and Life member of SSRC) recently at their official Opening
of McWil Courts on September 13th at The Walker Cricket Ground – home of Southgate Squash & Racketball Club (SSRC).
Formal recognition for the extremely hard work of the Committee and other volunteers along with the
growing participation / membership of these two sports in the local community proves that Squash & Racketball are not dying Sports.
Southgate SRC has 6 courts and its aim is to keep them available for the sport they were designed for.
SSRC have further development plans by working successfully with local Enfield and Barnet Councils.
